Alvin Aguilar’s passion in martial arts keeps him at the apex of Filipino martial arts today. This pushed him to become the premier Filipino Martial Artist, being the first and to date the only hall of fame inductee to Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

He attributes this from his commitment to learn from the best having trained with Royler Gracie, Saulo and Xande Ribeiro, Kazeka Muniz for his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt, the first given to a Filipino. He grounded his skills and knowledge of the craft further by learning the Filipino martial arts, “Kali Illustrisimo” / “DE CAMPO” / “Carlos Hermanos” with Sixto Carlos, Trained by Leo Gaje for
“Pekiti-Tirsia”, Robert Cousart for “Sari-An”, and Emil Zapata and Napoleon Fernandez for “Yaw-Yan”.

He does not believe that a single discipline is enough for all combat situations. Hence, he pursues to learn more, guided by three main principles: authenticity, credibility and combat effectivity. He believes in finding a better way, hence he fuses various disciplines and develop them for practical self-defense and fighting techniques to share with his community of followers under the brand of DEFTAC, the largest Jiu-Jitsu Team which has produced the most number of champions both locally and internationally (Asia) for Jiu-Jitsu, Wresting and MMA combined.

His altruism flows glaring and apparent when he founded URCC to promote the sport and martial arts discipline to mainstream Filipinos, making the brand the premier and most popular mixed martial arts fight promotions in the Philippines and in South East Asia.
